Abstract

To isolate the aerobic strain of denitrifiers, the method of intermittent aeration was adopted to select and enrich aerobic denitrifiers by domesticating the activated sludge with an SBR. Aerobic denitrifiers f4 were isolated from it. The strain has good performance of denitrification in absolute aerobic environment and there is no NO2-N-accumulation, meanwhile, the removal rate of NO3-N can reach over 90%. The denitrifyication process can be described as NO3-N → NO2-N → N2, and it mainly occurs in Log Phase with the increase of pH and the decrease of ORP. According to the physiological biochemical index, strains f4 of the aerobic denitrifier is generally identified as Pseudomonas. sp.
