ISAR imaging of target with micro-motion parts based on SSA

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

In ISAR imaging, when the micro-motion of a target or structure on the target is present, it is difcult to obtain a focused target image due to micro-Doppler, which induces a time-varying fequency modulation to radar returs. However micro-Doppler also provides additional and unique features for target recognition. In this paper, singular spectrum analysis (SSA) technique is applied to separate the returns of the body of target and that of micro-motion structures successfully. It makes the ISAR image clearer, and provides some information of the micro-motion dynamics. Finally, a simulation study is given to prove the effectiveness of the method.
