Abstract
The microstructure and corrosion resistance of the RE-doped electrodeposition Ni coatings fabricated with direct current electrodeposition (DC), pulse current electrodeposition (PC), and pulse reversal current electrodeposition (PRC) were investigated by means of SEM, electrochemical analysis and corrosion mass loss, etc. The results show that the Ni coatings produced with PRC exhibit the highest corrosion resistance among the three kinds of coatings, and the corrosion resistance of the PC coatings is higher than that of the DC coatings. The reason is that the surface of the PRC coatings is compacter, crystal finer compared with the coarse surface of DC and PC coatings.
