Abstract

The compound-structure permanent-magnet synchronous machine (CS-PMSM), integrated by two electric machines, is a promising energy transducer for hybrid electric vehicles. The compound structure of CS-PMSM leads to a mechanical coupling problem, i.e. speed and torque of the two rotating shafts are correlated. Special rotor position detection and control are required. In this paper, a unified controller was investigated. Further experiments indicate the feasibility of the controller and the control strategy.
