Abstract
The contact area is one of the significant effects on the heat transfer of the material, increasing the heat transfer area between the heating device and the heat sink through topology optimization of the heat sink structure is an efficient and feasible solution. The thermal conductivity of Cf/C-Haynes 230 brazed joints is enhanced by forming circular gaps on the surface of the Cf/C composite through the pre-oxidation process, which increases the heat transfer area between the braze and the Cf/C composite. This study reveals that the thermal conductivity of the joint is as high as 32.2 W·m−1·K−1 after pre-oxidation of Cf/C at 650 °C for 5 min, which is an improvement of 34.7% over the initial joint (23.9 W·m−1·K−1). This research provides a way to enhance heat transfer efficiency quickly without changing the materials used.
