Abstract

This paper analyzes the interoperability evaluation method for wireless electric vehicle charging (WEVC) systems based on impedance. Firstly, the concept of interoperability is introduced and parameters to evaluate interoperability are compared. Secondly, the interoperability of different coils are analyzed. Then, the theoretical background of impedance is presented and the relationship between impedance and interoperability is established. Thirdly, the standard devices are introduced and standard impedance zone is plotted. Interoperability of products can be verified by impedance test of products and standard devices. Only if the measured impedance is within the standard zone can interoperability be confirmed. Finally, the theoretical analysis is validated by simulation, demonstrating the effectiveness and simplicity of the impedance method.
