Integrating techniques of multi-database in CIMS enterprise

CIMS (Computer Integrated Manufacturing System) is a very complicated system, and there are a variety of distributed, autonomic, heterogeneous databases in integrated enterprises, hence it plays an important role in CIMS enterprise to integrate these heterogeneous information effectively. Based on the prototyped CIMS integrating platform named HIT-IIS which was developed in Harbin Institute of Technology, we design a scheme to extend the function of information server in HIT-IIS. This paper introduces the schema structure and Client/Server-based system architecture of Multi-database for CIM Integrated Platform, the concept and function structure of MDBI (Multi-database Integrator) are also proposed.
