Abstract
Integrated winding structure short-stroke DC planar motor (IWSDCPM) was presented. The novel planar motor was driven by Lorentz force with the features of simple structure, high positioning accuracy, low thrust ripple and fast response. In contrast with synchronous permanent magnet planar motor, this motor was more suitable for applications in planar precision positioning. The structure of this new-type planar motor and the 3DOF (three degree of freedom) driving principle were introduced. The magnetic field distribution was calculated analytically by using magnetic surface charge model and image method. The expression of the thrust was derived based on the Lorentz force law. Thrust and deflection torque were calculated by the finite element analysis. A prototype was designed and the static thrust experiment was achieved. Both simulation and experiment results were in good agreement with the theoretical calculation. That verified the validity of the theoretical analysis.
