Integrated estimation and guidance approach based on target maneuver detection

Abstract

Based on the fact that in the actual target interception scenario, for example, bounded control and saturated state variables etc, the comprehensive properties of the traditional independent optimization methods of estimator and guidance law design are not optimal, and based on the performance analysis of differential game guidance law and shaping filter for random target maneuver modeling, the homing performances of interception missiles corresponding to different guidance laws and shaping filters are affected largely by target maneuver estimate delay, an integrated estimation and guidance design approach were presented for randomly maneuver target interception. This approach was composed of a bank of filters, a bank of guidance laws and a detector for target maneuver timed switch. The detector was the generalized likelihood rate and was used to detect the target maneuver characteristics, and once the target maneuver command switch was detected, the estimator/guidance law pair employed was selected online according to the detection time and the test method was used to simulate based on Monte Carlo experiment method. The results show that this approach has better single shot kill probability than the single filter and guidance law approach.
