abstract = "Innovation is the key to the sustainable development of enterprises, and the innovation ability is deeply rooted in the genes of enterprises, which is the foundation and core of enterprises{\textquoteright} innovation activities. This paper deconstructed the capability of enterprise innovation genes, took the high-tech enterprises from 2010 to 2023 as a sample, and constructed regression model, mediation model and moderating model to study the genetic and variation effects of innovation genes on enterprise performance. Studies have shown that innovation genes can be efficiently expressed into corporate performance, and absorbed slack resources can catalyze this process. In addition, innovation genes can also improve corporate performance through variation. Based on this, this paper puts forward targeted strategies to improve enterprise performance.",
