Abstract
To analyze the influencing factors on local stress-strain responses of notched specimen, an elastic-plastic finite element analysis is presented for a solid cylindrical specimen with transverse circular hole subjected to multiaxial cyclic loading. Effects of the stress amplitude, the mean-stress and the multiaxiality on local stress-strain responses are discussed. It is shown that the stress amplitude and multiaxial load influence the shape of the hysteresis loop and characterize the material damage, while the mean-stress influences the location of the center of the stabilized hysteresis loop without effects on damage. So in fatigue analysis the stress amplitude and the multiaxiality are important factors, and the mean-stress should be introduced to the correction of the prediction model of fatigue life.
