Abstract

A series of thermo-compression experiments were conducted with LD7 aluminum alloy specimens on the Gleeble-1500 thermal simulator over a wide range of temperature (360-480°C) and at strain rates within 0.01-1 s-1 and the largest deformation of 60% to obtain the real stresses of the material under different experimental conditions, and the correction was performed to eliminate the frictional influence. The experimental results show that the LD7 aluminum alloy is a kind of dynamic recovery alloys. The flow stress declines with the increase of temperature, and the best deformation temperature is between 400°C and 450°C. And, finally, the alloy is very sensitive to the strain rate.
