Influence of temperature and loading frequency on the interaction ability of asphalt and aggregate

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The parameter B was used as the evaluation index for the asphalt-aggregate interaction ability. The rheological properties of asphalt mastics using two kinds of asphalts and four kinds of aggregates under different filler-asphalt ratios were measured with a dynamic shear rheometer. The interaction ability of asphalt and aggregate changing with temperature and loading frequency was analyzed, and the external conditions for evaluation of asphalt-aggregate interaction ability were determined. The results show that with the temperature increasing, the interaction ability of asphalt and aggregate is small at first and large at last, while the influence of loading frequency on interaction ability of asphalt and aggregate is opposite under both high temperature and low temperature.
