Influence of Rotor Topology on the Performance of Permanent Magnet Starter-Generators

Abstract

More Electric Aircraft (MEA) represents a prevailing trend in contemporary aviation. Permanent magnet motors exhibit significant potential for application within the domain of aviation starter-generators. This paper analyzes the operational characteristics of the starter-generator under various operating conditions. Furthermore, we investigate the influence of rotor topology on the performance of the starter-generator and derive the optimal rotor topology for its maximum efficiency.
