Abstract

As a kind of new lateral load resistance member, composite steel plate shear wall (CSPSW) connected with frame beams has the strongpoints, such as higher bearing capacity, better ductility, and convenience for leaving openings between two of them. The CSPSWs are installed in the composite frame with concrete-filled steel tublar (CFST) columns, which composes a new kind of composite structure. In this paper, the finite element software OPENSEES was applied to study the nonlinear response of this kind of composite structure. The influence of shear wall rigidity-to-composite frame rigidity ratio was studied. The results showed that the rigidity ratio varying from 3 to 5 was more reasonable.
