Abstract

Pulse current was introduced into the bending stress relaxation of nanocrystalline Ni foil to increase the relaxation rate. The effect of different pulse current densities were studied. The results show that when the pulse current is introduced, the relaxation rate is improved. As the pulse current density increases, the improvement of the relaxation effect increases. The influence mechanism was studied. The analysis results show that the pulse current can lead to onset of the motion of the dislocation source and accelerate the dislocation movement, promote the atom diffusion at the grain boundaries. This accelerates the transition from elastic deformation to plastic deformation and increases the stress relaxation rate.
