Abstract

Taking the independent and the dependent suspension vehicle models with 10 DOFs as analysis basic and 'ISO2631-1:1997(E)', riding comfort of the car (Ford) and the bus (DD-680)'s changing with vehicle parameters, velocity and pavement roughness have been analyzed in different pavement roughness. In order to evaluate the grades of pavement roughness from the perspective of riding comfort, the limits of pavement roughness have been primarily worked out by using the relationship established between pavement roughness and riding comfort, and taking the comfort limits of whole-body vibration as the norm. The achievements are meaningful for road and transportation career.
