Abstract

The concept of radial bias combustion swirl pulverized coal burner was introduced. The experiments were carried out on a 410 t/h boiler, showing the effects of the non-swirl secondary air ratio on the aerodynamic characteristics of the burner. The relation between the non-swirl secondary air ratio and flow parameters (such as the flow divergent angle, the length and diameter of internal recirculation zone and the mixing properties) was described. This burner has the advantages of high combustion efficiency, flame stability, low NOx emission, slagging resistance and high temperature corrosion resistance.
