Abstract

The nanosized rare earth oxide particles were doped in 7075 aluminum alloy to improve hardness. The content of added dopant was 0.2% in aluminum alloy. Test results showed the hardness the modified 7075 aluminum alloy is improved about 22.4% compared with the raw material. In dry friction, the wear scar width of the modified 7075 aluminum alloy is smaller than that of raw material.
