Abstract

A light brown ceramic coating with even color distributed and good compaction was obtained on TA2 pure titanium substrate by micro-arc oxidation in the Na3P04 electrolyte system containing FeS0 4. The influence of FeS04 concentration on color of the micro-arc oxidation film was studied. The results show that the color of the oxide film is in the Chinese people tooth's chromaticity distribution range, which has special application for the tetracyclin tooth or the fluorine spot tooth. With increasing concentration of ferrous sulfate in the electrolyte, the color of the oxide film changes toward red and yellow.
