Abstract

Now the fire resistance of column in design code mostly is based on standard fire test. But in actual practice the boundary condition is different from that in standard fire test. This paper presents the results of simulation of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns with different support exposed to one-sided fire and all-around fire. Specially, the direction of lateral displacement of CFST column exposed to one-sided fire is influenced by support and load greatly, and the fire resistance of this kind of CFST columns will be different. The effect of support condition on fire resistance behavior will be discussed and the effect of beam on lateral displacement of the column will be illustrated and be explained.
