Abstract

Composite sol has been synthesized utilizing both silica sol with tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) as the precursor and modified by 3-chloropropyltriethoxysilane (CPTES) and AgCl sol with silver nitrate (AgNO3) as the precursor. The SiO2-AgCl composite films have been fabricated on PET samples through dip-coating method. The effect of Silane-coupling-agent concentration on surface properties has been investigated by using SEM, FTIR, Folding machinery, contact angle test, method of oven drying quality and so on. The results indicated that the composite films with n(CPTES):n(TEOS)=1 of the mol ratio possess uniform surface topography, good adhesion strength, hydrophobicity, resistance to water and antibiosis.
