Influence factor analysis of the MHD controlled scram jet inlet design

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The basic principle and one-dimensional mathematic model of MagnetoHydrodynamic (MHD) controlled inlet were presented. Based on the influence factors analysis of MHD controlled inlet design, including magnetic field intensity, load factor and variation rate of cross section, the effect of design parameters on the exit aerodynamic parameters was given, which provided the basis of MHD controlled inlet design. A set of design parameters was given. The simulation results show that the application of MHD control technology to inlet design can effectively regulate combustor incoming flow state, improve specific impulse and extend the operating range of flight Mach number.
