Abstract

This paper analyzes the self-inductance and mutual-inductance components of the multi-unit permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) in different operating situations. The inductance expressions in the normal situation, one unit-motor operating situation, some unit-motors operating situation, and no-mechanical-load situation are presented. The inductances of the multi-unit PMSM in these operating situations are calculated with FEM according to the proposed expressions. The calculated results validate the analysis, the inductances in different situations present different changing trends.
