Abstract

The Fe-Cu-Ni-Mo-Ti high entropy alloy (HEA) coating and its in situ synthesis carbide reinforced HEA coating were prepared via GTAW cladding using the FeCuNiMoTi and FeCuNiMoTiC cable-type welding wires. Both coatings are comprised of BCC (major phase) and FCC (minor phase). Due to the addition of carbon fiber, the carbide reinforced phase formed in situ in the Fe-Cu-Ni-Mo-Ti-C HEA coating. This greatly enhances the hardness of the coating and improves the wear resistance of the coating.
