Abstract

A strategy for robust mixed H2/H filtering problem, applied to a class of linear continuous-time systems containing linear fractional uncertainties is presented. By introducing some slack variables to the evaluation of robust H2 and H performances, a less-conservative linear matrix inequality (LMI) based sufficient condition is obtained as compared to the existing characterizations. Also, a less-conservative design is achieved when applying the improved matrix inequality conditions to the robust filter design.
