Abstract

In this study, Ba0.5Sr0.5Zn0.2Fe 0.8O3-δ (BSZF) oxide, synthesized by solid-state reaction method, was modified for the cathode of solid oxide fuel cells. Three kinds of BSZF-based cathodes, pure-BSZF, BSZF-GDC (30 wt% Ce 0.9Gd0.1O1.95) and BSZF-GDC-Ag, were investigated using AC impedance spectroscopy. The results demonstrated that the performance of BSZF-GDC-Ag cathode was greatly improved; for example, at 700°C its polarization resistance decreased by 61% in comparison with pure BSZF.
