Hybrid Geothermal and Biomass Energy Systems

Abstract

With the development of global energy sources, fossil energy sources are becoming less available and renewable energy sources are gradually attracting the attention of scholars. Geothermal energy is a new clean energy source, and biomass is considered to be a future renewable resource with a high potential for energy production, hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems are therefore of significant importance. This chapter introduces the recent advances of hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems. Heating of hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems is initially introduced in the second section. Refrigeration of hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems is then introduced in the third section. Electricity generation of hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems is then detailed in the fourth section. Hydrogen production of hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems is finally introduced in the fifth section. Conclusion and future outlook are then given in the last (sixth) section. Hopefully, the contents presented in this chapter not only introduce the hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems but also give information for evaluating hybrid geothermal and biomass energy systems.
