Abstract

Homogenous transformation behaviors of Fe-23Al alloy during solid solution cooling process were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), metallographic microscope, transmission electron microscope (TEM) and high transmission electron microscope (HTEM) method. The results show that homogenous transformation quickly occurs during solid solution cooling process, which is not be inhibited by the increase of solid solution temperature. The Al atom enrichment areas are formed by spinodal decomposition in Fe-23Al alloys solid solution, and in-situ formation of B2 and DO3 ordered phases are obtained. Atom enrichment phase of DO3 structure is smaller than that of B2 structure.
