Abstract

In order to enable the asphalt pavement of Highway Tunnel has a good performance, adjusted asphalt mixture in the above 4.75 millimeters thick aggregate gradation, and add non-toxic, low smoke and can improve the road performance of the composite fire retardant. Studied the changes oxygen index after adding flame retardant asphalt, increased in the above 4.75 millimeters the proportion of coarse aggregate and added flame retardants impact on the road with asphalt mixture performance. Test results show that flame retardant SMA asphalt mixture has good high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance, water stability, bonding, and resilient modulus compressive strength and splitting. Moreover, the best flame retardant content is the the 7% of asphalt quality, at this time regardless of ambient temperature or high temperature, the oxygen index of asphalt can reach 33.
