Abstract

Carbon fiber reinforced poly (CF/PPEK) and carbon fiber reinforced poly (CF/PPES) unidirectional composites specimens were prepared by the pre-impregnated hot compression molding process. And by testing and analyzing their mechanical properties under normal temperature and high temperature, the mechanical properties and the changing law of the holding ratio of the strength to modulus of the high performance thermoplastic composites under high temperature were studied. The experiment shows that the holding ratios of extension strength and bending strength and the modulus are above 60% below the 250°C, and they have super high loading capacity. The experimental results of high temperature mechanical properties of the composites were found basically identical with those predicted from the Tr-n model.
