Abstract

The cyclic stress-strain response and microstructures of LCF specimens of a 15Cr-27Ni-1. 8Ti-Fe alloy were studied. Strain control LCF tests were performed at 600 degree C under two different wave shapes: R equals minus 1 and fixed epsilon //m//a//x. By comparing the results of these tests, the detrimental effect of average tensile stress was proved. This concerns the influence of tensile stress on the movement of dislocations and the formation of cracks.
