Abstract

This Special Section on High-Performance LED Drivers of the IEEE Transactions On Industrial Electronics provides an insight on some of the newly emerging challenges and potential solutions to overcome those issues. The Special Section opens with a paper presented by the guest editors, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of different LED drivers, expecting to be a reference for the researchers and engineers in further improving the performance of LED drivers. The characteristics and development of LEDs are analyzed, and a detailed technology review is presented including different topologies and hot topics of LED drivers. All the analyses and techniques proposed by these papers are verified by experimental results.
