Abstract

In High Frequency (HF) radar system, the classic platforms for signal processing are DSP and FPGA. However, the cost of these two platforms is very high and the scalability for these two platforms is bad. So it is imperative to find a new way for HF radar signal processing. Inspired by the Software-Defined Radar (SDR) concept and remarkable hardware acceleration which is performed in the Graphics Processors Unit (GPU) parallel technique, this paper investigates the implementation of HF radar algorithms on GPU in the general-purpose PC platform. Finally, numerical experiments are also provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.
