Abstract

Due to its suitability to combine the radar and communication (RadCom) applications simultaneously, the integrated RadCom systems using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals have been widely investigated. However, the Doppler processing strategy in traditional OFDM radars exhibits low accuracy along with high complexity caused by the communication data bits conveyed on the OFDM chirps. In this letter, we propose a high accuracy Doppler processing method for the phase-coded OFDM-based RadCom system. The system complexity can also be reduced by adopting the low sampling rate, frequency domain-based correlation processing method. Simulation results validate our analysis, and show that the presented strategy outperforms traditional ones.
