Abstract

The software-hardware design of the hardware-in-loop simulation platform for a small satellite control system was introduced and the simulation for the attitude control system was performed. As the keystone of the simulation platform, the xPC real-time simulator together with the on-board computer, sensors and actuators constituted a closed-loop control simulation system on an air-bearing table. A database was designed for unified management of the simulation data and it combined with the ground display terminals to achieve the simulation data visualization and the playback of simulation process. Based on the established real-time simulation system, the hardware-in-loop simulation for satellite three-axis attitude control was done. The result of the simulation demonstrates the validity of the software-hardware architecture of this simulation platform.
