Abstract

Undoped and Zn doped LiNbO3, crystals were grown by Czochralski method, with Zn concentrations in the melts of 0, 1.0, 3.0, 6.0, 8.0, 10.0, and 12.0 mol. %, respectively. In the crystals with Zn concentration lower than 6.0 mol. %, the OH- absorption bands and Raman peaks change little compared with the undoped LiNbO3. But for the crystals containing higher than 6.0 mol. % Zn, the OH- absorption bands shift to shorter wavelength, and there are some changes in Raman spectra. The crystal structure change is discussed.
