Abstract
The various Li/Nb double doped Zr:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals were grown by Czochralski technique. The optical homogeneity and the photorefractive resistance ability of crystals were measured. The birefringence gradient of Zr:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals is lower one order of magnitude than that of Fe:LiNbO3 crystals. The photorefractive resistance ability increases one order of magnitude than that of Fe:LiNbO3 crystals. It is found Zr4+ in LiNbO3 possess photorefractive resistance ability. The diffraction efficiency, response time and erasure time of various Li/Nb Zr:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals were measured by two wave coupling photo-path and dynamic range and sensitivity were calculated. The response speed sensitivity and dynamic range of Zr:Fe:LiNbO3 crystals are higher than that of Fe:LiNbO3 crystals and their holographic storage properties superior to that of Fe:LiNbO3 crystals.
