Abstract

Fluorescence enhancement by graphene oxide (GO) is reported, a surprising result as graphene and GO are widely considered as highly efficient fluorescence quenchers. Enhancement of aggregation-induced emission of silole fluorophores (in DES in the figure) in hydrophobic nanoparticles is demonstrated under certain concentration conditions, notably low GO concentration.
