Abstract
In order to design a safe and reliable Truss Spar platform, according to structural and mechanics characteristics of the Truss Spar platform, the control load conditions are determined by the control internal force which can be the platform structure's whole bending moment and shear force. And then, combined with ABS rules, the structural strength of platform is checked. The analysis process of the structural strength check was firstly introduced. Then, the model of the Spar platform coupled with the mooring and riser system was built, the hydrodynamic performance was analyzed and the worst load condition was confirmed. Finally, based on quasi-static analysis method and the finite element model with local refinement, the global structural strength analysis was completed under the worst load condition, and strength check was calculated in accordance with the rules. The results show that stress levels of the key connection parts of platform are quite high and its stress ratio has exceeded 0.9. The assessment results can be a reference for the analysis of similar platform structures and strength design.
