Abstract

Generalized frequency division multiplexing with index modulation (GFDM-IM) is a new type of multi-carrier technology. In order to further improve the error performance of the GFDM-IM system, this paper proposes a scheme called GFDM with hybrid number and reuse combinations index modulation (GFDM-HNRC-IM). This scheme increases the number of index bits by reusing the index combinations and increases the index that controls the number of active subcarriers, and finally improves the error performance of the system under the same spectrum efficiency (SE). At the same time, a low complexity receiver is designed for this system. The bit error rate (BER) of the system under Rayleigh multipath fading channel is simulated, and the results show that the BER performance of the proposed scheme is better than that of GFDM-IM.
