Abstract

Geothermal energy can be adopted by the absorption refrigeration system and heat pump for cooling and heating applications. In this chapter, geothermal energy applications are initially introduced, including electricity production, direct utilization, and heat-pump utilization. The absorption refrigeration cooling in the direct utilizations in single effect, double effect, double lift, and generator absorber heat exchange configurations are then detailed. Geothermal heat pumps for drying, electricity generation, hot water, space heating, snow melting, and sterilization are presented. Finally, the conclusion is briefly stated and summarized.
