Abstract

The paper is concerned with the modeling and simulation of coherent lognormal clutter with specified power spectrum. A generation model is first developed by Zero Memory Nonlinearity (ZMNL) transform with white complex Gaussian clutter as input. Then based on the nonlinear relationship of coherent Gaussian random variable and coherent lognormal random variable in the model, the nonlinear relationship between the complex lognormal covariance sequence and Gaussian covariance sequence is derived. The proposed model and method have been verified with three examples, and the simulation results indicate that the scheme works very well. The constraints of the method are also discussed.
