Abstract
In order to study the gelcasting of BaTiO3 powders, PMAA-NH4 was selected as dispersant and stabilized BaTiO3 slurry was obtained by milling. The effects of the concentrations of monomer, binder and initiator on gelling time, strength and density of the green body were discussed by using orthogonal experiments. The optimal addition contents of monomer, binder and initiator were 4 wt%, 1.5 wt% and 0.02 wt%, respectively. BaTiO3 ceramic with uniform grain size, low porosity, high density and excellent positive temperature coefficient (PTC) characteristic was obtained through sintering at 1340°C.
