Abstract
In order to offer the seamless handover between different networks and the continuity guarantee of the traffic for mobile nodes, a multi-attribute vertical handover algorithm (FAVHO) is proposed based on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP). In the algorithm, according to the fuzziness of human mind, fuzzy numbers are adopted to describe the comparison results of the importance of attributes and a fuzzy judgment matrix is established to eliminate the differences in the consistency between the judgment matrix and the human mind in traditional algorithms. For the purpose of improving the handover effectiveness, an adaptive timer is designed in view of the motion state of the mobile node and the load state of the target base station. Simulated results show that the proposed algorithm can improve the handover performance, increase the system throughput and reduce the dropping probability of the system.
