Abstract
An exact analytical solution for a cracked Reissner plate under symmetric bending mode is obtained by application of the Fourier transform and Wiener-Hopf technique. A relation between the stress intensity factor for a Reissner plate, KIR, and classical plate, KIC, is obtained for the same geometry and loading. Established is the relation KRI 1+v 3+vKCI differing from that of Knowles and Wang [1] but agreeing closely with the numerical results of Hartranft and Sih [2] and Wang [3].
