Abstract
A ball-to-disk vacuum tester was manufactured to study the tribological mechanism of bearings applied on moon undercarriage. The friction and wear properties of GCr15/GCr15 pairs are studied on the tester under normal barometric and vacuum (6×10-3 Pa) conditions. The results show that the friction coefficient under vacuum condition is lower than that of the normal barometric, for the shearing intension of specimens is reduced by high temperature between the friction surfaces. The specimens under vacuum condition are easier to adhere, so the wear is higher than that of the normal barometric.
