Abstract

FPGA-based single chip servo controller was designed to get high-performance all-digital AC servo system. According to the modern EDA design methodology, the hardware logical circuits of all motor control modules, including coordinate transform, SVPWM, current loop, speed loop and serial communication were constructed in Verilog HDL and verified through simulation. Finally, the PMSM RFOC (Rotor Field Orientation Control) is implemented on a single Xilinx 3S400 FPGA chip. Simulation and experimental results indicate that the system has excellent mechanical characteristic, torque characteristic and dynamic performance. The approach of designing high-performance all digital AC servo system using FPGA has high feasibility.
