Abstract

Dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (DTP-PMSMs) inherently suffer from low harmonic impedance, leading to significant harmonic currents that must be suppressed to prevent additional losses and torque ripple. In the vector space decomposition (VSD) frame, the xy-plane voltage vector used for harmonic suppression imposes constraints on the αβ-plane voltage vector for fundamental control. Conventional flux-weakening strategies for DTP-PMSMs often neglect this interaction, resulting in insufficient harmonic suppression and large d-axis current fluctuations. This paper enhances the negative d-axis current compensation method by addressing the coupling between the αβ and xy planes, thereby proposing a flux-weakening control strategy that incorporates harmonic suppression. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
