Abstract

Based on analysis of conventional six-switch three-phase brushless DC motor (BLDCM), flux linkage tracking control strategy of four-switch three-phase BLDCM was proposed in this paper. In the scheme, speed loop was outside one and the output of the speed loop was multiplied by current shaping functions of the three phases respectively to form current references. And the inside current loops were constructed under two-phase reference frame by means of coordinate transform. Flux linkage tracking modulation was adopted to control the four-switch inverter to implement 120° square-waveform currents and avoid switching frequency's inconstancy in hysteresis controller. Simulation model and experimental system were built and the results revealed the validity and efficiency of the scheme.
